Various additional data has been proposed [15,16] in order to enhance the applicability of the RTS. This data is presented in Appendix 2. The RTS is used extensively in the applications given in subsequent chapters. The only exception is in Chapter 4 which concerns distribution systems (HLIII) since the RTS does not have any distribution defined for it.
Therefore it was decided  that a series of results should be evaluated for the RTS in which no approximations in the evaluation process and no assumptions, additional to those already associated with the RTS, were made. These indices could then form base values against which results from alternative and approximate methods can be compared. All the results in the following sections, except those showing the effect of rounding, are therefore exact (for the given data) since no approximations have been made in ei the r the capaci ty model or the load model.
